School Assemblies

Encouraging, entertaining, and educational.  That describes the school assemblies of Gary Bower, who will bring laughter and his love for books to your school or adult group.  Particularly popular is the presentation about his book "I'm a Michigan Kid!", in which the hearts of his listeners are being stirred to a deeper pride in the Great Lakes State.

Gary speaks to thousands of students and adults each year, helping his audiences develop their talents, go nuts about books, and appreciate the uniqueness of others.  He can tailor-make a program to suit your time frame and special needs, always incorporating his wife's artwork, his writing insights, and his many humorous experiences as the father of a dozen kids.

WHAT IS THE FEE?  The cost is $190/session (2 session minimum), plus 50 cents per mile roundtrip from Traverse City, Michigan.  (Please understand that this rate is necessary even if Gary is visiting another school in your area, since this calculated mileage typically is used to pay for not only his transportation but also other expenses such as overnight lodging, meals, etc.) 

WHAT ARE THE ASSEMBLY TIMES & GRADES? Each session lasts about 45-55 minutes. Most K-5 schools do back-to-back assemblies for K-2 and 3-5 (or K-4 and 5-8).

HOW ARE BOOKS MADE AVAILABLE?:  Your school will receive 2 free copies of "I'm a Michigan Kid," for your library. In addition, students and teachers will be able to purchase autographed books at a reduced rate. (Gary provides you with order forms in advance of his visit, and will bring plenty of his books with him.)
